Julia Virginia Win is a New Jersey-based author, illustrator, artist, and educator whose work brings together creativity, movement, environmental awareness, and community. She is the author and illustrator of Move Like a Truck, a playful rhyming picture book inspired by her experiences as a mother, elementary educator, and yoga teacher and by her sons' fascination with anything on wheels.
Through her studio, JVWcreates LLC, Julia creates large-scale public art installations and mixed-media works from discarded and donated materials, including plastic bottle caps, bread tags, and other single-use plastics. Her recycled artworks have been commissioned and exhibited throughout New Jersey, including permanent public installations, community murals, exhibitions, and hands-on art projects. Her work has been recognized through grants and the Middlesex County Mural Design Contest, which she won in 2023 through a public vote.
Julia holds a Master of Education from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from Montclair State University. Julia is also a trained yoga teacher, with 200 hours of YogaWorks teacher training as well as additional training in children's yoga from Bee You Kids Yoga. Beyond her individual creative work, Julia is the Co-Founder and Chair of the Children's Museum of Central Jersey, an emerging nonprofit dedicated to creating hands-on learning and playful opportunities for children and their caregivers.
Julia lives in the "Brainy Boro" with her husband Tom and two boys, Lennox and Ellison.
