Abigail Mickey from Rally-UHC on Her Motivation Secret + More Cycling Tips!

I love Rally-UHC’s women’s team, and I appreciate how much the Rally UHC Cycling Team as a whole has put into building such an awesome crew of women, including Abigail Mickey. She’s one of the top riders on the team and splits her time between Girona, Spain, and Colorado, and when she’s not riding, she builds an amazing salad. Weird but true!

I’ve gotten to hang out with her a few times now and her advice is gold. A few favorite gems:

“Riding boosted my self-confidence and made me so many great friends.”

“Everyone has bad days—Don’t take things personally, in races or when dealing with traffic or anything. You don’t know what someone else is going through.”

“Check your tire pressure every. time. you go to ride!”

“When I’m not feeling motivated, I slap on some Taylor Swift and there’s no better way to up my mood. Shake It Off is a staple song. There are days when it’s pouring rain and the last thing I want to do is ride my bike, so I put on Taylor Swift and by the time I get home, I’m dancing on my bike.”
